St. Giles x YourStance

National charity St Giles and YourStance are launching joint sessions that bring lived experience and life-saving skills together. St  Giles and YourStance have announced a new collaboration to deliver trauma‑informed, life-saving skills sessions to young people.

The joint programme provides essential emergency first aid training, including CPR and bleed control, alongside knowledgeable St Giles caseworkers who can facilitate open, non-judgmental and trauma-informed conversations based on lived experience.

By combining the strengths of both organisations, the initiative aims to reduce harm, build resilience, and empower young people with practical tools and trusted support networks.

“As a nurse, I’ve spent years caring for young people in hospitals after violence has already taken its toll — and as the founder of YourStance, I’ve spent years trying to make sure they never get there in the first place. Partnering with St Giles just makes sense. We already work alongside each other to support young people in clinical settings, so bringing that same energy into the community feels like a natural next step. Between us, we have the lived experience, the trust, and the life-saving skills to meet young people exactly where they are — and that combination is genuinely powerful.” Ana Waddington, Founder of YourStance

The programme is being piloted in school provisions within boroughs with increased incidence of violence.

This collaboration has the potential to inform, empower, and support the young people of London.
